Round One Corporation Just Recorded A 9.2% EPS Beat: Here's What Analysts Are Forecasting Next
Round One Corporation (TSE:4680) came out with its annual results last week, and we wanted to see how the business is performing and what industry forecasters think of the company following this report. The result was positive overall - although revenues of JP¥159b were in line with what the analysts predicted, Round One surprised by delivering a statutory profit of JP¥57.99 per share, modestly greater than expected. Earnings are an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance, look at what the analysts are forecasting for next year, and see if there's been a change in sentiment towards the company. With this in mind, we've gathered the latest statutory forecasts to see what the analysts are expecting for next year.
See our latest analysis for Round One
Taking into account the latest results, the most recent consensus for Round One from seven analysts is for revenues of JP¥168.2b in 2025. If met, it would imply a satisfactory 5.6% increase on its revenue over the past 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are predicted to increase 7.1% to JP¥62.19. In the lead-up to this report, the analysts had been modelling revenues of JP¥168.3b and earnings per share (EPS) of JP¥62.81 in 2025. So it's pretty clear that, although the analysts have updated their estimates, there's been no major change in expectations for the business following the latest results.
It will come as no surprise then, to learn that the consensus price target is largely unchanged at JP¥1,050. It could also be instructive to look at the range of analyst estimates, to evaluate how different the outlier opinions are from the mean. There are some variant perceptions on Round One, with the most bullish analyst valuing it at JP¥1,600 and the most bearish at JP¥700 per share. Note the wide gap in analyst price targets? This implies to us that there is a fairly broad range of possible scenarios for the underlying business.
Looking at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can make sense of these forecasts is to see how they measure up against both past performance and industry growth estimates. It's pretty clear that there is an expectation that Round One's revenue growth will slow down substantially, with revenues to the end of 2025 expected to display 5.6% growth on an annualised basis. This is compared to a historical growth rate of 12% over the past five years. By way of comparison, the other companies in this industry with analyst coverage are forecast to grow their revenue at 7.0% per year. So it's pretty clear that, while revenue growth is expected to slow down, the wider industry is also expected to grow faster than Round One.
The Bottom Line
The most obvious conclusion is that there's been no major change in the business' prospects in recent times, with the analysts holding their earnings forecasts steady, in line with previous estimates. On the plus side, there were no major changes to revenue estimates; although forecasts imply they will perform worse than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
Following on from that line of thought, we think that the long-term prospects of the business are much more relevant than next year's earnings. We have estimates - from multiple Round One analysts - going out to 2027, and you can see them free on our platform here.
