Open House Group (TSE:3288) Will Pay A Larger Dividend Than Last Year At ¥84.00
Open House Group Co., Ltd. (TSE:3288) has announced that it will be increasing its dividend from last year's comparable payment on the 12th of June to ¥84.00. This will take the annual payment to 2.9% of the stock price, which is above what most companies in the industry pay.
Open House Group's Projected Earnings Seem Likely To Cover Future Distributions
Impressive dividend yields are good, but this doesn't matter much if the payments can't be sustained. However, Open House Group's earnings easily cover the dividend. This means that most of its earnings are being retained to grow the business.
The next year is set to see EPS grow by 8.0%. Assuming the dividend continues along recent trends, we think the payout ratio could be 26% by next year, which is in a pretty sustainable range.

Open House Group Has A Solid Track Record
The company has an extended history of paying stable dividends. The annual payment during the last 10 years was ¥7.50 in 2015, and the most recent fiscal year payment was ¥168.00. This works out to be a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 36% a year over that time. Rapidly growing dividends for a long time is a very valuable feature for an income stock.
The Dividend Looks Likely To Grow
The company's investors will be pleased to have been receiving dividend income for some time. Open House Group has impressed us by growing EPS at 13% per year over the past five years. Growth in EPS bodes well for the dividend, as does the low payout ratio that the company is currently reporting.
We Really Like Open House Group's Dividend
Overall, a dividend increase is always good, and we think that Open House Group is a strong income stock thanks to its track record and growing earnings. Earnings are easily covering distributions, and the company is generating plenty of cash. All of these factors considered, we think this has solid potential as a dividend stock.
Investors generally tend to favour companies with a consistent, stable dividend policy as opposed to those operating an irregular one. Meanwhile, despite the importance of dividend payments, they are not the only factors our readers should know when assessing a company. Earnings growth generally bodes well for the future value of company dividend payments.
