If You Like EPS Growth Then Check Out Jash Engineering (NSE:JASH) Before It's Too Late

Some have more dollars than sense, they say, so even companies that have no revenue, no profit, and a record of falling short, can easily find investors. But as Warren Buffett has mused, 'If you've been playing poker for half an hour and you still don't know who the patsy is, you're the patsy.' When they buy such story stocks, investors are all too often the patsy.

If, on the other hand, you like companies that have revenue, and even earn profits, then you may well be interested in Jash Engineering (NSE:JASH). While that doesn't make the shares worth buying at any price, you can't deny that successful capitalism requires profit, eventually. Loss-making companies are always racing against time to reach financial sustainability, but time is often a friend of the profitable company, especially if it is growing.

Jash Engineering's Improving Profits

In the last three years Jash Engineering's earnings per share took off like a rocket; fast, and from a low base. So the actual rate of growth doesn't tell us much. Thus, it makes sense to focus on more recent growth rates, instead. Like a wedge-tailed eagle on the wind, Jash Engineering's EPS soared from ₹16.98 to ₹25.78, in just one year. That's a commendable gain of 52%.

Careful consideration of revenue growth and earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margins can help inform a view on the sustainability of the recent profit growth. The good news is that Jash Engineering is growing revenues, and EBIT margins improved by 3.4 percentage points to 14%, over the last year. Ticking those two boxes is a good sign of growth, in my book.

Since Jash Engineering is no giant, with a market capitalization of ₹6.2b, so you should definitely check its cash and debt before getting too excited about its prospects.

Are Jash Engineering Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?

Personally, I like to see high insider ownership of a company, since it suggests that it will be managed in the interests of shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that Jash Engineering insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. In fact, they own 61% of the company, so they will share in the same delights and challenges experienced by the ordinary shareholders. This makes me think they will be incentivised to plan for the long term - something I like to see. With that sort of holding, insiders have about ₹3.8b riding on the stock, at current prices. That should be more than enough to keep them focussed on creating shareholder value!

Is Jash Engineering Worth Keeping An Eye On?

For growth investors like me, Jash Engineering's raw rate of earnings growth is a beacon in the night. Further, the high level of insider ownership impresses me, and suggests that I'm not the only one who appreciates the EPS growth. So this is very likely the kind of business that I like to spend time researching, with a view to discerning its true value. Before you take the next step you should know about the 3 warning signs for Jash Engineering that we have uncovered.

Although Jash Engineering certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
