Should You Investigate Ashoka Buildcon Limited (NSE:ASHOKA) At ₹81.10?
While Ashoka Buildcon Limited (NSE:ASHOKA) might not be the most widely known stock at the moment, it saw a double-digit share price rise of over 10% in the past couple of months on the NSEI. As a small cap stock, hardly covered by any analysts, there is generally more of an opportunity for mispricing as there is less activity to push the stock closer to fair value. Is there still an opportunity here to buy? Let’s examine Ashoka Buildcon’s valuation and outlook in more detail to determine if there’s still a bargain opportunity.

What's the opportunity in Ashoka Buildcon?
Good news, investors! Ashoka Buildcon is still a bargain right now according to my price multiple model, which compares the company's price-to-earnings ratio to the industry average. I’ve used the price-to-earnings ratio in this instance because there’s not enough visibility to forecast its cash flows. The stock’s ratio of 2.93x is currently well-below the industry average of 15.84x, meaning that it is trading at a cheaper price relative to its peers. However, given that Ashoka Buildcon’s share is fairly volatile (i.e. its price movements are magnified relative to the rest of the market) this could mean the price can sink lower, giving us another chance to buy in the future. This is based on its high beta, which is a good indicator for share price volatility.
What does the future of Ashoka Buildcon look like?
Future outlook is an important aspect when you’re looking at buying a stock, especially if you are an investor looking for growth in your portfolio. Buying a great company with a robust outlook at a cheap price is always a good investment, so let’s also take a look at the company's future expectations. Though in the case of Ashoka Buildcon, it is expected to deliver a relatively unexciting top-line growth of 1.8% in the next few years, which doesn’t help build up its investment thesis. Growth doesn’t appear to be a main reason for a buy decision for the company, at least in the near term.
What this means for you:
Are you a shareholder? Even though growth is relatively muted, since ASHOKA is currently trading below the industry PE ratio, it may be a great time to increase your holdings in the stock. However, there are also other factors such as capital structure to consider, which could explain the current price multiple.
Are you a potential investor? If you’ve been keeping an eye on ASHOKA for a while, now might be the time to make a leap. Its future outlook isn’t fully reflected in the current share price yet, which means it’s not too late to buy ASHOKA. But before you make any investment decisions, consider other factors such as the strength of its balance sheet, in order to make a well-informed investment decision.
In light of this, if you'd like to do more analysis on the company, it's vital to be informed of the risks involved. For example, we've found that Ashoka Buildcon has 2 warning signs (1 is potentially serious!) that deserve your attention before going any further with your analysis.

Trending Discussion
As a gamer, I would not touch this company now. They are hated by the community and have been releasing major flops on their AAA games during the last 5 years (for good reasons). It is true that the valuation is ridiculously low compared to what the licenses are worth, but if the trend continues the value of those will also decline. Management needs to almost make a 180° turnaround to get things right. I agree that a take-private deal before it is too late might be the best option for an investor entering today. We might also see a split sales of the different studios. It is a very risky play, but potentially with high reward.
