Party Time: One Broker Just Made Major Increases To Their HKR International Limited (HKG:480) Earnings Forecast
Celebrations may be in order for HKR International Limited (HKG:480) shareholders, with the covering analyst delivering a significant upgrade to their statutory estimates for the company. The consensus statutory numbers for both revenue and earnings per share (EPS) increased, with their view clearly much more bullish on the company's business prospects.
Following the upgrade, the most recent consensus for HKR International from its lone analyst is for revenues of HK$3.8b in 2022 which, if met, would be a solid 10.0% increase on its sales over the past 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are presumed to swell 17% to HK$0.64. Previously, the analyst had been modelling revenues of HK$3.4b and earnings per share (EPS) of HK$0.47 in 2022. So we can see there's been a pretty clear increase in analyst sentiment in recent times, with both revenues and earnings per share receiving a decent lift in the latest estimates.

Taking a look at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can understand these forecasts is to see how they compare to both past performance and industry growth estimates. We would highlight that HKR International's revenue growth is expected to slow, with the forecast 10.0% annualised growth rate until the end of 2022 being well below the historical 16% p.a. growth over the last five years. Compare this against other companies (with analyst forecasts) in the industry, which are in aggregate expected to see revenue growth of 14% annually. So it's pretty clear that, while revenue growth is expected to slow down, the wider industry is also expected to grow faster than HKR International.
The Bottom Line
The biggest takeaway for us from these new estimates is that the analyst upgraded their earnings per share estimates, with improved earnings power expected for this year. Fortunately, they also upgraded their revenue estimates, and are forecasting revenues to grow slower than the wider market. The clear improvement in sentiment should be enough to get most shareholders feeling more optimistic about HKR International's future.
