Have Insiders Been Selling Amuse Group Holding Limited (HKG:8545) Shares?
It is not uncommon to see companies perform well in the years after insiders buy shares. Unfortunately, there are also plenty of examples of share prices declining precipitously after insiders have sold shares. So shareholders might well want to know whether insiders have been buying or selling shares in Amuse Group Holding Limited (HKG:8545).
What Is Insider Selling?
It is perfectly legal for company insiders, including board members, to buy and sell stock in a company. However, most countries require that the company discloses such transactions to the market.
We don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions. But logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares. As Peter Lynch said, 'insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise'.

Amuse Group Holding Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
The Chairman & CEO, Wai Keung Li, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for HK$4.6m worth of shares at a price of HK$0.12 each. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of HK$0.23, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. We generally consider it a negative if insiders have been selling, especially if they did so below the current price, because it implies that they considered a lower price to be reasonable. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. It is worth noting that this sale was only 7.6% of Wai Keung Li's holding. Wai Keung Li was the only individual insider to sell over the last year.

Insider Ownership
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It's great to see that Amuse Group Holding insiders own 49% of the company, worth about HK$106m. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
