Aegean Airlines Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent purchase by Eftichios Vassilakis was the biggest purchase of Aegean Airlines shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of €4.34. That means they have been optimistic about the company in the past, though they may have changed their mind. Insider Ownership

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Aegean Airlines insiders own about €21m worth of shares. That equates to 6.8% of the company. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.

So What Does This Data Suggest About Aegean Airlines Insiders?

It is good to see the recent insider purchase. And the longer term insider transactions also give us confidence. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses. When combined with notable insider ownership, these factors suggest Aegean Airlines insiders are well aligned, and that they may think the share price is too low. While we like knowing what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
