When a single insider purchases stock, it is typically not a major deal. However, when multiple insiders purchase stock, like in ConvaTec Group Plc's (LON:CTEC) instance, it's good news for shareholders.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

ConvaTec Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Group CFO & Director Jonathan Mason for UK£64k worth of shares, at about UK£2.27 per share. That implies that an insider found the current price of UK£2.37 per share to be enticing. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider purchases were made at close to current prices.

While ConvaTec Group insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell.
