Here's Why I Think Cliq Digital (ETR:CLIQ) Is An Interesting Stock
Like a puppy chasing its tail, some new investors often chase 'the next big thing', even if that means buying 'story stocks' without revenue, let alone profit. And in their study titled Who Falls Prey to the Wolf of Wall Street?' Leuz et. al. found that it is 'quite common' for investors to lose money by buying into 'pump and dump' schemes.
So if you're like me, you might be more interested in profitable, growing companies, like Cliq Digital (ETR:CLIQ). Now, I'm not saying that the stock is necessarily undervalued today; but I can't shake an appreciation for the profitability of the business itself. While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, unless its owners have an endless appetite for subsidizing the customer, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else breathe its last breath.

How Quickly Is Cliq Digital Increasing Earnings Per Share?
The market is a voting machine in the short term, but a weighing machine in the long term, so share price follows earnings per share (EPS) eventually. It's no surprise, then, that I like to invest in companies with EPS growth. Who among us would not applaud Cliq Digital's stratospheric annual EPS growth of 52%, compound, over the last three years? Growth that fast may well be fleeting, but like a lotus blooming from a murky pond, it sparks joy for the wary stock pickers.
One way to double-check a company's growth is to look at how its revenue, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) margins are changing. Cliq Digital shareholders can take confidence from the fact that EBIT margins are up from 11% to 17%, and revenue is growing. Ticking those two boxes is a good sign of growth, in my book.

Are Cliq Digital Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
It makes me feel more secure owning shares in a company if insiders also own shares, thusly more closely aligning our interests. As a result, I'm encouraged by the fact that insiders own Cliq Digital shares worth a considerable sum. Indeed, they hold €12m worth of its stock. That's a lot of money, and no small incentive to work hard. Those holdings account for over 8.6% of the company; visible skin in the game.
Is Cliq Digital Worth Keeping An Eye On?
Cliq Digital's earnings per share growth have been levitating higher, like a mountain goat scaling the Alps. That sort of growth is nothing short of eye-catching, and the large investment held by insiders certainly brightens my view of the company. At times fast EPS growth is a sign the business has reached an inflection point; and I do like those. So yes, on this short analysis I do think it's worth considering Cliq Digital for a spot on your watchlist. You still need to take note of risks, for example - Cliq Digital has 3 warning signs we think you should be aware of.
Although Cliq Digital certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
