Broker Revenue Forecasts For Nuvei Corporation (TSE:NVEI) Are Surging Higher
Celebrations may be in order for Nuvei Corporation (TSE:NVEI) shareholders, with the analysts delivering a significant upgrade to their statutory estimates for the company. The revenue forecast for this year has experienced a facelift, with analysts now much more optimistic on its sales pipeline. The market may be pricing in some blue sky too, with the share price gaining 18% to CA$119 in the last 7 days. It will be interesting to see if today's upgrade is enough to propel the stock even higher.
Following the upgrade, the latest consensus from Nuvei's 13 analysts is for revenues of US$702m in 2021, which would reflect a sizeable 59% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. The losses are expected to disappear over the next year or so, with forecasts for a profit of US$0.94 per share this year. Before this latest update, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of US$637m and earnings per share (EPS) of US$0.82 in 2021. So we can see there's been a pretty clear increase in analyst sentiment in recent times, with both revenues and earnings per share receiving a decent lift in the latest estimates.

With these upgrades, we're not surprised to see that the analysts have lifted their price target 22% to US$106 per share. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Nuvei at US$132 per share, while the most bearish prices it at US$90.34. These price targets show that analysts do have some differing views on the business, but the estimates do not vary enough to suggest to us that some are betting on wild success or utter failure.
These estimates are interesting, but it can be useful to paint some more broad strokes when seeing how forecasts compare, both to the Nuvei's past performance and to peers in the same industry. It's clear from the latest estimates that Nuvei's rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 153% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2021 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 57% over the past year. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to grow their revenue 13% annually. It seems obvious that, while the growth outlook is brighter than the recent past, the analysts also expect Nuvei to grow faster than the wider industry.
The Bottom Line
The biggest takeaway for us from these new estimates is that analysts upgraded their earnings per share estimates, with improved earnings power expected for this year. Fortunately, analysts also upgraded their revenue estimates, and our data indicates sales are expected to perform better than the wider market. There was also an increase in the price target, suggesting that there is more optimism baked into the forecasts than there was previously. Seeing the dramatic upgrade to this year's forecasts, it might be time to take another look at Nuvei.
