When a single insider purchases stock, it is typically not a major deal. However, when multiple insiders purchase stock, like in HLS Therapeutics Inc.'s (TSE:HLS) instance, it's good news for shareholders.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

HLS Therapeutics Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Independent Chairman of the Board John Welborn for CA$166k worth of shares, at about CA$3.93 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, at around the current price, which is CA$4.10. That means they have been optimistic about the company in the past, though they may have changed their mind. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. The good news for HLS Therapeutics share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

In the last twelve months insiders purchased 51.28k shares for CA$197k. On the other hand they divested 500.00 shares, for CA$1.7k. Overall, HLS Therapeutics insiders were net buyers during the last year. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below.
