What Does TVA Group's Recent Performance Look Like?

Recent times haven't been great for TVA Group as its revenue has been falling quicker than most other companies. Perhaps the market isn't expecting future revenue performance to improve, which has kept the P/S suppressed. If you still like the company, you'd want its revenue trajectory to turn around before making any decisions. If not, then existing shareholders will probably struggle to get excited about the future direction of the share price.

Do Revenue Forecasts Match The Low P/S Ratio?

In order to justify its P/S ratio, TVA Group would need to produce sluggish growth that's trailing the industry.

In reviewing the last year of financials, we were disheartened to see the company's revenues fell to the tune of 8.3%. This has soured the latest three-year period, which nevertheless managed to deliver a decent 7.3% overall rise in revenue. So we can start by confirming that the company has generally done a good job of growing revenue over that time, even though it had some hiccups along the way.

Shifting to the future, estimates from the sole analyst covering the company suggest revenue growth is heading into negative territory, declining 7.4% over the next year. With the industry predicted to deliver 1.2% growth, that's a disappointing outcome.

In light of this, it's understandable that TVA Group's P/S would sit below the majority of other companies. However, shrinking revenues are unlikely to lead to a stable P/S over the longer term. There's potential for the P/S to fall to even lower levels if the company doesn't improve its top-line growth.

The Final Word

Typically, we'd caution against reading too much into price-to-sales ratios when settling on investment decisions, though it can reveal plenty about what other market participants think about the company.

It's clear to see that TVA Group maintains its low P/S on the weakness of its forecast for sliding revenue, as expected. As other companies in the industry are forecasting revenue growth, TVA Group's poor outlook justifies its low P/S ratio. Unless these conditions improve, they will continue to form a barrier for the share price around these levels.
