Barrick Mining Corporation Beat Analyst Estimates: See What The Consensus Is Forecasting For This Year
A week ago, Barrick Mining Corporation (TSE:ABX) came out with a strong set of first-quarter numbers that could potentially lead to a re-rate of the stock. It was overall a positive result, with revenues beating expectations by 7.7% to hit US$5.2b. Barrick Mining also reported a statutory profit of US$0.96, which was an impressive 24% above what the analysts had forecast. The analysts typically update their forecasts at each earnings report, and we can judge from their estimates whether their view of the company has changed or if there are any new concerns to be aware of. We thought readers would find it interesting to see the analysts latest (statutory) post-earnings forecasts for next year.
After the latest results, the 15 analysts covering Barrick Mining are now predicting revenues of US$22.4b in 2026. If met, this would reflect a meaningful 18% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are predicted to increase 8.0% to US$3.95. In the lead-up to this report, the analysts had been modelling revenues of US$22.7b and earnings per share (EPS) of US$4.01 in 2026. The consensus analysts don't seem to have seen anything in these results that would have changed their view on the business, given there's been no major change to their estimates.

It will come as no surprise then, to learn that the consensus price target is largely unchanged at CA$72.14. The consensus price target is just an average of individual analyst targets, so - it could be handy to see how wide the range of underlying estimates is. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Barrick Mining at CA$95.11 per share, while the most bearish prices it at CA$30.70. As you can see the range of estimates is wide, with the lowest valuation coming in at less than half the most bullish estimate, suggesting there are some strongly diverging views on how analysts think this business will perform. With this in mind, we wouldn't rely too heavily the consensus price target, as it is just an average and analysts clearly have some deeply divergent views on the business.
Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. It's clear from the latest estimates that Barrick Mining's rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 24% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2026 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 6.4% p.a. over the past five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to grow their revenue at 17% per year. Factoring in the forecast acceleration in revenue, it's pretty clear that Barrick Mining is expected to grow much faster than its industry.
The Bottom Line
The most obvious conclusion is that there's been no major change in the business' prospects in recent times, with the analysts holding their earnings forecasts steady, in line with previous estimates. Fortunately, they also reconfirmed their revenue numbers, suggesting that it's tracking in line with expectations. Additionally, our data suggests that revenue is expected to grow faster than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
Keeping that in mind, we still think that the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for investors to consider. We have estimates - from multiple Barrick Mining analysts - going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here.
