When a single insider purchases stock, it is typically not a major deal. However, when multiple insiders purchase stock, like in Vertex Resource Group Ltd.'s (CVE:VTX) instance, it's good news for shareholders.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Vertex Resource Group

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by President Terry Stephenson for CA$225k worth of shares, at about CA$0.25 per share. That implies that an insider found the current price of CA$0.27 per share to be enticing. That means they have been optimistic about the company in the past, though they may have changed their mind. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. Happily, the Vertex Resource Group insiders decided to buy shares at close to current prices.
