He served as the Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and Treasurer of California Water Service Group from March 13, 2006 to October 1, 2012 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer since May 1, 2012. He joined Hall Kinion & Associates Inc. in February 1997 as a Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Corporate Services of Hall Kinion and Associates since 1997 until 2004. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Power Light Corporation from 2005 to 2006. From June 1989 to February 1996, Mr. Kropelnicki held various positions, as a Director in the financial organization at Pacific Gas & Electric Company from 1989 to 1996. He began his professional career as an Accountant at Hewlett Packard in Palo Alto, California. Mr. Kropelnicki is the past President of the National Association of Water Companies and currently serves on their Board of Directors. He also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of CWS Utility Services, Hawaii Water Service Company, Inc., and New Mexico Water Service Company; Chief Executive Officer of Washington Water Service Company. He has been a Director of California Water Service Group since September 1, 2013. Prior to Hall Kinion & Associates Inc., he served as Director at Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group-ICS from February 1996 to February 1997. He serves as a director for the Bay Area Council, and the California Foundation on the Environment & Economy, and is a member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Mr. Kropelnicki holds a B.A. degree and an M.A. degree in Business Economics from San Jose State University.

California Water Service Group, through its subsidiaries, provides water utility and other related services in California, Washington, New Mexico, and Hawaii. It is involved in the production, purchase, storage, treatment, testing, distribution, and sale of water for domestic, industrial, public, and irrigation uses, as well as for fire protection. The company offers its services to approximately 486,900 customer connections in 100 California communities; approximately 4,800 water and wastewater customer connections on the islands of Maui and Hawaii; approximately 17,600 customer connections in the Tacoma and Olympia areas in Washington; and approximately 8,200 water and wastewater customer connections in the Belen, Los Lunas, Indian Hills, and Elephant Butte areas in New Mexico. It also engages in the provision of non-regulated water-related services, including operating municipally owned water systems, privately owned water, and recycled water distribution systems; providing water system operation, meter reading, and billing services to private companies and municipalities; leasing communication antenna sites on its properties to telecommunication companies; billing optional third-party insurance programs to its residential customers; and providing lab services.
