With Arrow trading at $174.97 against an analyst price target of $146.25 and carrying a mid-range value score of 3, are you looking at an overextended move or a market that is already pricing in future growth?

Most Popular Narrative: 20% Overvalued

With Arrow Electronics’ most followed fair value sitting at $146.25 against a last close of $174.97, the current price stands well above that narrative line in the sand and puts more focus on the assumptions behind it.

Accelerating adoption of cloud, infrastructure software, cybersecurity, and mid-market as-a-service offerings (notably through ArrowSphere) is increasing Arrow's exposure to higher-margin, recurring revenue streams, which is set to support both revenue growth and margin stability in future quarters.

Read the complete narrative.

Want to see what kind of revenue trajectory and margin profile could back up that fair value, and how much of it hinges on recurring earnings and future valuation multiples? The full narrative lays out the earnings path, profitability assumptions, and required P/E level that need to hold together for $146.25 to make sense.

Result: Fair Value of $146.25 (OVERVALUED)

Have a read of the narrative in full and understand what's behind the forecasts.

However, you still need to weigh up risks such as customers bypassing distributors through digital platforms and ongoing destocking that could pressure revenue, margins, and earnings.

Another Angle On Valuation

The fair value narrative says Arrow looks overvalued at $146.25 versus a $174.97 share price, but the current P/E of 15.6x tells a different story, sitting well below the US Electronic industry at 31.4x, a peer average of 21x, and an estimated fair ratio of 18x.

That kind of gap can signal either mispricing or justified caution. The key question is whether you think earnings quality, growth expectations, and risk profile support the market moving closer to that 18x fair ratio or staying where it is.

Gold miners still look inexpensive because the market thinks we're near the top of the cycle. Given what's happening to the dollar, I'm not so sure.

Between 2003 and 2011, gold nearly went 5x. Dollar went weak too. The gold companies did bad. It is worth noting that between 2003 and 2011, there was 2008! I will leave it your inference and research.
