Is It Time To Rethink mondaycom MNDY After Its Sharp Multi Year Share Price Slide

Recent swings in monday.com’s share price may have you wondering whether the current level reflects a bargain, a fair deal, or something richer than the underlying business justifies.

Over the short term, the stock has been mixed, with a 2.0% return over the last 7 days, a 4.7% decline over the last 30 days, and a year to date return of 54.1% decline that sits alongside a 76.2% decline over the past year and 40.2% decline over three years.

Recent news flow has focused on how monday.com is positioning its work management platform in a crowded software space and how investors are reassessing growth expectations and risk appetite in that context. These headlines help frame why the share price performance has been so uneven, as the market weighs the company’s potential against uncertainty around execution and competition.

Based on Simply Wall St’s valuation checks, monday.com currently scores 4 out of 6 on its valuation scorecard. This suggests some parts of the market’s pricing look more appealing than others. The sections that follow will walk through those methods one by one before finishing with a broader way to think about what “value” really means for this stock.

Find out why monday.com's -76.2% return over the last year is lagging behind its peers.

Approach 1: monday.com Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Analysis

A Discounted Cash Flow model takes estimates of a company’s future cash flows and discounts them back to today’s value to arrive at an estimate of what the whole business might be worth right now.

For monday.com, Simply Wall St uses a 2 Stage Free Cash Flow to Equity model based on cash flow projections. The latest twelve months free cash flow is reported at $312.9 million. Analyst inputs and subsequent extrapolations then project free cash flow rising to $567.1 million by 2030. A series of yearly figures between 2026 and 2035 is discounted back to today using the model’s chosen rate.

Bringing all of those future cash flows into today’s dollars produces an estimated intrinsic value of $135.95 per share. Compared with the current share price, the DCF output suggests the stock is 51.5% undervalued according to this framework. This indicates a meaningful gap between the model’s estimate and where the market is currently pricing monday.com.

Result: UNDERVALUED

Our Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis suggests monday.com is undervalued by 51.5%. Track this in your watchlist or portfolio, or discover 51 more high quality undervalued stocks.

Approach 2: monday.com Price vs Earnings

For profitable companies, the P/E ratio is a useful shorthand for how much investors are willing to pay today for each dollar of current earnings. Higher growth expectations or lower perceived risk can support a higher P/E, while slower growth or higher risk tend to anchor that multiple closer to earth.

monday.com currently trades on a P/E of 28.17x. That sits slightly below the Software industry average P/E of 28.76x and below the peer group average of 31.97x. To go a step further, Simply Wall St’s proprietary “Fair Ratio” estimates what a more tailored P/E might look like for monday.com, at 21.20x, taking into account factors such as earnings growth, industry, profit margins, market cap and key risks.

This Fair Ratio is designed to be more company specific than a simple comparison with peers or the broad industry, because it adjusts for monday.com’s own profile rather than assuming all software names deserve similar multiples. Set against the current P/E of 28.17x, the Fair Ratio of 21.20x indicates the shares trade materially above that modelled level.

Upgrade Your Decision Making: Choose your monday.com Narrative

Earlier it was mentioned that there is an even better way to understand valuation, so Narratives are introduced here as a simple way for you to attach a clear story to your numbers by spelling out how you see monday.com’s future revenue, earnings and margins, linking that story to a forecast and then to your own view of fair value.

On Simply Wall St’s Community page, Narratives are available as an easy tool used by millions of investors, helping you compare your Fair Value with the current share price so you can judge for yourself whether the gap between price and value looks large enough to consider buying, selling, or waiting.

Narratives update automatically when fresh information comes in, such as earnings, news, guidance or analyst revisions. This means your fair value view is not frozen; it keeps adjusting as the monday.com story evolves.

For monday.com, one investor might build a Narrative closer to the higher end of published fair value views, such as US$231.45. Another might sit nearer the lower end, such as US$124.64. That spread shows how different assumptions about growth, margins and risk can lead to very different conclusions about what the stock is worth today.

derek_3wsdg on Teladoc Health ·

You’ve overlooked the activist investor factor. Travis Cocke’s Voss has announced 5% ownership through a 13G filing. They’ve added to that 5% since, and in doing so, have created a structural trap door for 27.42 Million Shares actively sold short. Chuck will announce lots of positives on July 29 but it’s what Voss announces shortly after that will rock the overextended Teledoc shorts. The Walmart partnership is the tip of the iceberg. The market is missing the sheer regulatory and enterprise friction of modern corporate healthcare. Teladoc isn't a "consumer app"; it is the primary digital infrastructure integrated directly into the legacy backends of Tier-1 insurance companies and fortune 500 employers, covering 105 million+ lives. Teladoc is acting as the digital top-of-funnel engine for the world's largest retailer. If Voss pushes the narrative that Teladoc is effectively the outsourced digital brain of Walmart's entire healthcare footprint, the fair value shifts from a basic health multiple to an enterprise distribution premium. Additionally , we are in a structural gold rush for high-quality, legally compliant, longitudinal medical data to train vertical healthcare AI models. Large technology hyperscalers and pharmaceutical giants cannot simply scrape the internet for this; they need structured clinical inputs. Teladoc sits on one of the largest de-identified virtual medical datasets on earth. From the activist playbook , we’ll see Voss demand the immediate creation of a Data & Diagnostics Licensing Division, transforming a legacy liability into an incredibly high-margin, pure-software data asset that requires zero human clinician hours to scale. Chuck is doing great work and deserves credi5 for the Teledoc turnaround but it will be Travis Cocke who will be responsible for a share price way beyond your $15 valuation.
