Magic Software: Expecting A Reversal Of Negative Mix In Q4

Summary Magic Software delivered solid revenue growth, particularly in Israel, driven by project-based demand, with North America showing a return to even organic growth. Profit growth was temporarily hindered by a negative revenue mix, but a rebound is expected in Q4 as higher-margin software sales pick up. The company raised revenue guidance due to a strong project pipeline. Valuation is in line with parent/peer and sprawling holding company Asseco, trading at a fair ~25-27x PE. It's in line with its own historical midpoint multiple as well. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Magic Software: Near-Term Alpha, Long-Term Underperformance

Summary Magic Software (MGIC) is expected to rise significantly due to its high dividend yield and undervaluation, but it is unlikely to outperform the market over the long term. Magic's low-code development and Industry 4.0 solutions position it well for digital transformation trends despite risks from industry competition and dependency on key clients. Magic's resilient FCF, conservative growth forecasts, and current undervaluation present a buying opportunity, projecting a stock price of $16.11 by December 2025, implying a 35% CAGR. The Bear's Case For Magic Software Enterprises

Summary Magic Software Enterprises has enjoyed historic growth, but that growth has slowed, demonstrated by its previous quarterly earnings report. The company's most recent quarterly earnings showed weaknesses to its business, and it will not be able to overcome new challenges in my opinion. Economic risks, geopolitical issues, and a decline in business will hamper Magic Software Enterprises into 2024 and beyond. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Magic Software Continues To Create Revenue Platforms In Resilient Industries

Magic Software has about 80% of its revenue coming from long-term engagements with current clients. Growth is being driven by the signing of contracts with new clients primarily in healthcare and defense. These resilient industries are creating an attractive revenue platform for the company, and the cash generation drivers continue to fire. The company continues to be a nice mid-cap tech exposure, but it's beginning to trade too dearly for us high conviction investors to be interested.

Magic's Growth Strengthens Asseco Case, But Receivables Are Bloating

We follow Magic Software because it's held by Asseco Poland, one of our favourite Eastern European companies that has sold off over the Russia-Ukraine conflict. It continues to deliver strong organic growth and generate a lot of repeat business. While professional services is growing in the mix, and we'd prefer strength in the software side, Magic demonstrates continued demand for digital transformation. Q4 was especially strong despite difficult comps, delivering double-digit growth, but operating cash flow weirdly declined. The dividend is also attractive for a tech company, but we'd have liked analysts to question the receivables situation before we recommend buying.

Magic Software Continues To Deliver Growth, But Consulting Model Exposed To Human Capital Risks

Magic Software continues to benefit from the digitalisation boom and the boom in M&A, where IT integration services, especially for the cloud, become necessary. While Magic's organic performance continues to impress us, we use this note to focus on the fact that 80% of Magic's revenues are essentially tech consulting. While a good platform for selling software, which admittedly has declined in the mix, consulting services are exposed to human capital risks, more acute in a 'great resignation' environment. While Magic continues to be attractive, at least as a holding of our Asseco Poland investment, we note that human capital risks, specifically attrition and payroll increases, could impact the company.

Magic Software Enterprises: Benefits From Durable M&A, Digitalization And Logistics Strength

As part of Asseco's Formula Systems assets, Magic Software has delivered soundly in their businesses with over 20% in organic revenue growth. With exposure to business transformation initiatives, related substantially to acquisition activity, Magic is likely to continue to deliver. Moreover, the digitalization trends accelerated by COVID-19 continue to be a tailwind for Magic in IT services and for the rest of their software on offer. For a low double-digit multiple and with even a decent dividend yield, Magic is a worthwhile exposure which we continue to hold through Asseco Poland.
