US Stock Market Today: S&P 500 Futures Dip Amid Rate Cut Anticipation
Reviewed by Sasha Jovanovic
The Morning Bull - US Market Morning Update Monday, Dec, 1 2025
US stock futures are mixed this morning, as investors digest a fresh jump in Treasury yields and a wave of new global economic data. The yield on the 10-year US government bond climbed to 4.04% with markets now betting there is an 87% chance the Federal Reserve will lower interest rates next week. Lower rates usually make it cheaper to borrow and can boost spending, but rising yields can also mean extra costs for businesses and consumers in the short term. At the same time, reports show China’s economy remains in a funk, with both factory and services scores slipping below 50, which signals shrinking activity. For investors, the big question now is whether the Fed’s likely rate cut will be enough to offset sluggish growth abroad. This puts the spotlight on companies that benefit from lower borrowing costs, such as those in real estate and smaller, debt-heavy firms, while keeping international exporters and commodity-related sectors at risk if China’s slowdown deepens.
We’ve found penny stocks with strong financials that are positioned to benefit first if rate cuts happen quickly.
