GSI Technology Gains on Army AI Contract and Edge Platform Momentum GSI Technology reported fiscal 2026 results that management described as strong, supported by demand for its SRAM and compute-in-memory products, including the Gemini-II platform for edge AI.
The company secured a US$2 million Phase II U.S. Army xTech SBIR contract to build a ruggedized edge AI platform for tactical defense use.
Despite recording a net loss and facing competition from larger chipmakers, investor interest in GSI’s AI-focused memory technology and defense work coincided with a stock move of nearly 39%.
The combination of progress in Associative Processing Unit technology, traction for Gemini-II in edge AI, and a defense-related contract indicates that the business is focusing on AI and military use cases that may be less tied to broad consumer cycles.
At the same time, the ongoing net loss and presence of much larger competitors such as Nvidia and Intel highlight execution risk and the importance of how effectively GSI converts current contract wins and technology momentum into a more sustainable revenue base. GSI Technology, Inc. Reports 3-Second Time-To-First-Token for Edge Multimodal LLM Inference on Gemini-II GSI Technology, Inc. announced preliminary benchmark results for the Gemini-II Compute-in-Memory processor. These results demonstrated 3-second time-to-first-token ("TTFT") performance for multimodal large language models operating at the edge with video and text inputs. Using the Gemma-3 12B vision-language model on GSI's production Gemini-II processor, GSI achieved the 3-second TTFT while consuming approximately 30 watts at the AI sub-system, including the chip. To GSI's knowledge, this 3-second TTFT at approximately 30 watt at the AI sub-system is the lowest publicly reported result for a multimodal 12B model running on an embedded edge processor. Independent third-party testing of the same workload on competitive embedded platforms reported TTFT measurements of roughly 12 seconds on Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite with 30W power, and 3 seconds on NVIDIA Jetson Thor with over 100W power. A 3-second TTFT means the system can generate an initial response every three seconds, which is generally fast enough to be useful in video-based applications without missing meaningful events. Gemini-II's ability to deliver low-latency multimodal inference at low power supports a broader range of real-time applications, from autonomous systems to intelligent machines operating outside the data center." GSI believes this performance profile is well-suited to "physical AI" markets, including drones, smart city, and other edge systems where workloads are episodic and constrained by battery life, thermal design, and form factor. New major risk - Shareholder dilution The company's shareholders have been substantially diluted in the past year. Increase in shares outstanding: 38% This is considered a major risk. Shareholder dilution occurs when there is an increase in the number of shares on issue that is not proportionally distributed between all shareholders. Often due to the company raising equity capital or some options being converted into stock. All else being equal, if there are more shares outstanding then each existing share will be entitled to a lower proportion of the company's total earnings, thus reducing earnings per share (EPS). While dilution might not always result in lower EPS (like if the company is using the capital to fund an EPS accretive acquisition) in a lot cases it does, along with lower dividends per share and less voting power at shareholder meetings. Currently, the following risks have been identified for the company: Major Risks Share price has been highly volatile over the past 3 months (47% average weekly change). Shareholders have been substantially diluted in the past year (38% increase in shares outstanding). Reported Earnings • Nov 02

New minor risk - Market cap size The company's market capitalization is less than US$100m. Market cap: US$96.3m This is considered a minor risk. Companies with a small market capitalization are most likely businesses that have not yet released a product to market or are simply a very small company without a wide reach. Either way, risk is elevated with these companies because there is a chance the product may not come to fruition or the company's addressable market or demand may not be as large as expected. In addition, if the company's size is the main factor, it is less likely to have many investors and analysts following it and scrutinizing its performance and outlook. This is currently the only risk that has been identified for the company. Reported Earnings • Aug 03

GSI Technology Announces Production Release of Two Gemini-I® Apu Servers GSI Technology, Inc. announced the release in production of two high capacity, low power server products. The Leda-E and Leda-S boards incorporate the Gemini-I® APU, capable of 1.2 POPs at 80W and 800 TOPs at 40W, respectively. The new server offerings are available as a single 2U server of eight Leda-E™ boards at 10 POPs, and a 1U server of sixteen Leda-S™ boards, totaling 13 POPs. GSI's true compute-in-memory technology has proven differentiated capabilities in large (billion item) database search and high-performance compute applications, such as facial recognition, drug discovery, Opensearch, and object detection and re-identification. The low 1.2kW full server power of these formidable systems unlocks the potential for the 1U server to be used in mobile or remote applications. Single card versions of the Gemini-I have shown six-fold performance improvement over the Xeon® CPU for seed location filtering in DNA read mapping by Cornell University1. Similarly, the Gemini-I® has shown equivalent performance to the A100 for cryptography applications, such as high throughput hash-based security protocols, as demonstrated by Northern Arizona University (NAU)2. NAU found that an 8-card APU server would be compelling for further evaluation due to its smaller form factor in a 2U server compared to an equivalent A100 GPU system. Server systems based on GSI’s production Gemini-I APU chip come pre-bundled with an application development compiler and can be further customized with Real-Time Fast Back Projection software or Fast Vector Search support. Announces Tape-Out of the Gemini-II APU GSI Technology, Inc. announced tape-out of the Gemini-II Associated Processing Unit, its second generation of the patented compute-in-memory APU family, on TSMC’s 16nm process. Gemini-II will bring significant performance enhancements over Gemini-I with more than ten times the processing performance with eight times the memory density compared to Gemini-I. These upgrades provide 184 TOPS (8bit adds) and more than 5.8 Peta OPS for Boolean operations at 1.4GHz operation. Gemini-II’s combination of high processing power, large built-in memory with tremendous bandwidth with reduced power consumption and latency provides a best-in-class solution for AI applications. Gemini-II contains 1 million Bit Processors in six megabytes of associative compute memory tightly connected to 96 megabytes of distributed SRAM with a huge 46 terabyte per second bandwidth. The Gemini APU implements bit-granular processing, which allows users fully flexible cycle by cycle data format operation, an inherent advantage versus other parallel processors. Gemini-II is a complete package that includes a DDR4 controller and external interfaces for PCIe Gen4 by 16, and PCIe Gen4 by 4. This integrated solution offers substantial processing capabilities, being suitable for both low power data center expansion and enabling data center functions at the edge. New minor risk - Shareholder dilution The company's shareholders have been diluted in the past year. Increase in shares outstanding: 2.2% This is considered a minor risk. Currently, the following risks have been identified for the company: Major Risks Share price has been highly volatile over the past 3 months (63% average weekly change). Earnings have declined by 34% per year over the past 5 years. Minor Risk Shareholders have been diluted in the past year (2.2% increase in shares outstanding). Announcement • Jul 18
