The next big company is out there. Help investors find it by sharing your Narratives.
The investors who found the decade's winners weren't lucky. They did the work, formed a view, and put numbers behind it before the crowd showed up.

The quality bar
What makes aquality Narrative
A short list. A high bar. Everything that follows is what we look for.
Start here
Own a niche. Go deep on a few, not thin on many.
Pick a sector, a region, or a cluster of companies and become the go-to voice on them. Readers come back for the specialist, not the generalist. Three deeply covered companies beat thirty shallow takes every time.
Insight
Unique or contrarian. Not consensus.
A fresh angle on a stock. Summarising what analysts already say does not count. The bar is higher for well-covered names. If everyone already knows it, saying it again adds nothing.
Spotting a margin inflection early.
Summarising analyst reports.
Coverage
Under-covered. The early view is what counts.
Niche and under-followed companies lower the bar for insight required, because you are doing the work no one else is. The best Narratives are often on businesses most investors have not heard of yet.
Original thesis on a small-cap stock.
Rehash of consensus on a mega-cap.
Storytelling
Great storytelling helps.
A well-told Narrative is more persuasive than a data dump. Help the reader follow your thinking from thesis to conclusion. A focused 500-word piece beats a rambling 2,000-word one every time.
Updates
Meaningful updates only.
Updates must bring something new. Fresh earnings, a changed assumption, a thesis that has evolved. Formatting edits do not count.
Post-earnings revision with new numbers.
Minor rewording or formatting fixes.
AI
Use AI thoughtfully.
AI can sharpen your structure. It cannot do your thinking. The insight, the conviction, the judgment on what matters — that has to come from you. Readers notice the difference.
Conviction
Share your conviction.
Clear conviction beats neutral commentary every time. Do not dilute your view to play it safe. Put your thinking out there and stand behind it.
Active editorial support
Have an idea but not sure how to shape it? Our editorial team will work with you to convert a rough thesis into a quality Narrative worth publishing. You don't have to figure it out alone. Reach out to community@simplywall.st and let us know what you're working on.

Frequently asked questions
Getting started
A quality Narrative is a structured investment thesis, not a hot take or a price prediction. It is a reasoned, evidence-backed view on why a company is interesting, where it is going, and what it might be worth. The bar is simple: does it tell an investor something they could not easily find elsewhere? If yes, you are on the right track.
Anyone who invests with conviction and can articulate why. You do not need to be a professional analyst. You need to have done the work, read the filings, understood the business, and formed a view the market has not fully priced in. If your perspective is sharper than the consensus, this is the place to put it.
Long enough to be rigorous, short enough to be readable. There is no word count target. A focused, well-structured 600-word Narrative will outperform a rambling 2,000-word one. Every paragraph should earn its place. Insight matters more than length.
Yes. Popular, well-followed stocks are welcome but the bar for insight is higher. Some of the best Narratives cover companies that are not yet on everyone's radar: overlooked sectors, under-followed markets, businesses with real potential the crowd has not caught up with yet. Going deep on a niche you know well will take you further than trying to cover everything.
Yes, with one condition: the thinking has to be yours. AI tools are useful for sharpening structure and clarity. They are not a substitute for original analysis. Readers can tell the difference between a Narrative with a real point of view and one that has been generated. The insight, the conviction, the judgment, that has to come from you.
Rewards & recognition
Write a Narrative that takes a clear position, backs its claims with data, and says something the market is not fully pricing in. Our editorial team selects the best work each week and sends it to millions of investors. There is no application process. Publish something exceptional and we will find it. Also, please note that the slot here is limited.
Consistency and quality over time. Authors who regularly publish well-structured, data-backed Narratives and keep them updated as the story evolves are the ones who get recognised. There is no shortcut. Just good work, done repeatedly.
New quality Authors get 3 months free, awarded every week. Emerging Authors unlock ongoing free access once they publish 3 quality Narratives. It stays active as long as you contribute 3 times per quarter, a new Narrative or a meaningful update both count. Take a break and it pauses. Start contributing again and it picks right back up.
The affiliate program is selectively offered to authors with an existing audience. If you are selected, you earn commission on every Simply Wall St subscriber you refer. It is not automated. We reach out directly to authors whose audience and work are a strong fit.
For existing authors
Your existing Narratives count toward your tier. If you have already published 3 or more quality Narratives, you are eligible for Emerging Author status. Our editorial team reviews existing bodies of work as we roll this out. If you think you qualify, reach out to community@simplywall.st and we will take a look.
A meaningful update brings something new to the Narrative: fresh earnings data, a revised fair value, a changed assumption, or a thesis that has shifted based on new developments. Formatting changes, minor rewording, or cosmetic edits do not count. If a reader who saw the original would learn something new from the update, it counts.
Nothing drastic. Your free access pauses if you drop below 3 contributions in a quarter, but there is no penalty and you do not lose your tier. The moment you start contributing again, everything picks back up.
Our editorial team reads every submission. If your Narrative is as per our guidelines, it goes live to the Simply Wall St community immediately. If you are building a consistent body of work, we track that too. Nothing good gets missed.
