Reversal Of Fortune For Zura Bio Insiders Who Made A US$1.01m Purchase
Some of the losses seen by insiders who purchased US$1.01m worth of Zura Bio Limited (NASDAQ:ZURA) shares over the past year were recovered after the stock increased by 14% over the past week. The purchase, however, has proven to be a pricey bet, with losses currently totalling US$357k.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Zura Bio Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
The Independent Chairman Amit Munshi made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$500k worth of shares at a price of US$3.13 each. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of US$2.67. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.
Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 242.94k shares worth US$1.0m. On the other hand they divested 51.73k shares, for US$200k. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by Zura Bio insiders. They paid about US$4.14 on average. This is nice to see since it implies that insiders might see value around current prices. Insider Ownership
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Our data indicates that Zura Bio insiders own about US$8.4m worth of shares (which is 5.6% of the company). But they may have an indirect interest through a corporate structure that we haven't picked up on. Overall, this level of ownership isn't that impressive, but it's certainly better than nothing!
