MyMD Pharma receives grant from European patent office for Supera-CBD compound

MyMD Pharma (NASDAQ:MYMD) said on Tuesday that it had received a grant from the European Patent Office for its application, under which the allowed claims cover its Supera-CBD, to treat pain and anxiety, compound as a new molecular entity and pharmaceutical formulations containing the compound. MYMD-1 is an oral selective inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor-alpha, that drives chronic inflammation, is being studied to slow the aging process, prevent sarcopenia and frailty, and extend healthy lifespan. The upcoming patent grant adds to the company’s growing portfolio that includes patents in the US, Australia, Canada, Israel, and South Korea.

Oramed, MyMD surge on plans for early-stage oral COVID vaccine data release in Q3

Oramed Pharmaceuticals' (NASDAQ:ORMP) Thursday announcement it will report Q1 data on its oral COVID-19 vaccine this quarter has boosted its shares as well as that of MyMD Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:MYMD). MyMD (MYMD) partially owns Oravax Medical, a subsidiary of Oramed (ORMP) that is developing the vaccine. In early afternoon trading, Oramed (ORMP) was up ~25% while MyMD added ~27%. Volume in both companies was also high. as of 1245p ET, ~3.2M Oramed (ORMP) shares had traded hands. Daily average volume is ~846K. For MyMD (MYMD), the figure was ~1.6M shares (daily average ~65.7K). Vaxart (VXRT) is also developing an oral vaccine pill.
