Consensus from the 2 Media analysts is ICLK is on the verge of breakeven. They expect the company to post a final loss in 2019, before turning a profit of US$28m in 2020. So, ICLK is predicted to breakeven approximately a couple of months from now! How fast will ICLK have to grow each year in order to reach the breakeven point by 2020? Working backwards from analyst estimates, it turns out that they expect the company to grow 99% year-on-year, on average, which is rather optimistic! Should the business grow at a slower rate, it will become profitable at a later date than expected.

Underlying developments driving ICLK’s growth isn’t the focus of this broad overview, however, keep in mind that generally a high growth rate is not out of the ordinary, particularly when a company is in a period of investment.

One thing I would like to bring into light with ICLK is its relatively high level of debt. Generally, the rule of thumb is debt shouldn’t exceed 40% of your equity, which in ICLK’s case is 42%. Note that a higher debt obligation increases the risk in investing in the loss-making company.
