Why Freedom Holding’s Latest Earnings Have Drawn Investor Focus
Freedom Holding (FRHC) reported first quarter results for the period ended June 30, 2026, with revenue of US$732.53 million and net income of US$31.66 million, compared with US$523.98 million and US$37.36 million a year earlier.

Freedom Holding’s share price has pulled back recently, with a 30 day share price return down 10.30%. However, the year to date share price return is up 19.92% and the 5 year total shareholder return is 132.27%. This points to long term momentum despite some shorter term volatility around the latest earnings update.
If Freedom Holding’s mixed performance has you rethinking where growth could come from next, it may be worth broadening your search with 19 top founder-led companies
So is this recent pullback in Freedom Holding simply sentiment cooling after strong multi year gains, or a clearer signal that the mixed earnings are changing how the business is being valued?
Preferred P/E of 61.9x for Freedom Holding: Is It Justified?
Freedom Holding currently trades at a P/E of 61.9x, which sits against a last close share price of $148.98 and marks a clear premium to both its industry and peer group.
The P/E ratio compares the company’s share price to its earnings per share and effectively shows how much investors are paying today for each dollar of current earnings. For a diversified financials group like Freedom Holding, a higher P/E can sometimes reflect expectations that recent earnings growth or margin trends will persist.
Here, the picture is mixed. Earnings grew 101% over the past year and net profit margins widened from 5.4% to 9.4%, yet earnings have declined by 12.8% per year over the past 5 years and Return on Equity is described as low at 10.3%. With insufficient data on future revenue and earnings growth forecasts, it is not clear whether the market is paying up for a persistent improvement in profitability or extrapolating a rebound that may or may not hold.
The premium becomes even clearer when compared to benchmarks. Freedom Holding’s 61.9x P/E is described as expensive relative to the US Capital Markets industry average of 37.9x and also expensive versus a peer average P/E of 15.8x. That places the stock on a multiple that is several times higher than many comparable companies in its space.

Result: Price-to-Earnings of 61.9x (OVERVALUED).
However, the sustained P/E premium for Freedom Holding could come under pressure if earnings soften again or if growth in key markets like Kazakhstan slows.

Gold miners still look inexpensive because the market thinks we're near the top of the cycle. Given what's happening to the dollar, I'm not so sure.

Is it a safer bet on gold to have just exposure to ETFs?
Between 2003 and 2011, gold nearly went 5x. Dollar went weak too. The gold companies did bad. It is worth noting that between 2003 and 2011, there was 2008! I will leave it your inference and research.
