Coinbase Global, Inc. (NASDAQ:COIN) shareholders will have a reason to smile today, with the analysts making substantial upgrades to this year's statutory forecasts. The consensus statutory numbers for both revenue and earnings per share (EPS) increased, with their view clearly much more bullish on the company's business prospects.

Following the upgrade, the most recent consensus for Coinbase Global from its 18 analysts is for revenues of US$8.1b in 2025 which, if met, would be a sizeable 29% increase on its sales over the past 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are anticipated to tumble 27% to US$7.40 in the same period. Prior to this update, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of US$7.3b and earnings per share (EPS) of US$5.48 in 2025. So we can see there's been a pretty clear increase in analyst sentiment in recent times, with both revenues and earnings per share receiving a decent lift in the latest estimates.

It will come as no surprise to learn that the analysts have increased their price target for Coinbase Global 11% to US$330 on the back of these upgrades.

Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. It's clear from the latest estimates that Coinbase Global's rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 29% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2025 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 18% p.a. over the past five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to grow their revenue at 5.7% per year. Factoring in the forecast acceleration in revenue, it's pretty clear that Coinbase Global is expected to grow much faster than its industry.

The Bottom Line

The biggest takeaway for us from these new estimates is that analysts upgraded their earnings per share estimates, with improved earnings power expected for this year. They also upgraded their revenue estimates for this year, and sales are expected to grow faster than the wider market. Given that the consensus looks almost universally bullish, with a substantial increase to forecasts and a higher price target, Coinbase Global could be worth investigating further.

Even so, the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for the value creation of shareholders. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for Coinbase Global going out to 2027, and you can see them free on our platform here..
