We'd be surprised if Lindsay Corporation (NYSE:LNN) shareholders haven't noticed that the Senior VP & CFO, Brian Ketcham, recently sold US$498k worth of stock at US$124 per share. That sale was 31% of their holding, so it does make us raise an eyebrow.

Lindsay Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent sale by Brian Ketcham is the biggest insider sale of Lindsay shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of US$128, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. We note that the biggest single sale was only 31% of Brian Ketcham's holding.
