BH Global Corporation Limited (SGX:BQN) shareholders might be concerned after seeing the share price drop 27% in the last week. Despite this, the stock is a strong performer over the last year, no doubt about that. Indeed, the share price is up an impressive 150% in that time. So it may be that the share price is simply cooling off after a strong rise. The real question is whether the business is trending in the right direction.

To paraphrase Benjamin Graham: Over the short term the market is a voting machine, but over the long term it's a weighing machine. By comparing earnings per share (EPS) and share price changes over time, we can get a feel for how investor attitudes to a company have morphed over time.

A Different Perspective

We're pleased to report that BH Global shareholders have received a total shareholder return of 150% over one year. There's no doubt those recent returns are much better than the TSR loss of 3% per year over five years. This makes us a little wary, but the business might have turned around its fortunes. While it is well worth considering the different impacts that market conditions can have on the share price, there are other factors that are even more important.
