Here's Why I Think Saudi Industrial Services (TADAWUL:2190) Might Deserve Your Attention Today
It's only natural that many investors, especially those who are new to the game, prefer to buy shares in 'sexy' stocks with a good story, even if those businesses lose money. But as Warren Buffett has mused, 'If you've been playing poker for half an hour and you still don't know who the patsy is, you're the patsy.' When they buy such story stocks, investors are all too often the patsy.
In the age of tech-stock blue-sky investing, my choice may seem old fashioned; I still prefer profitable companies like Saudi Industrial Services (TADAWUL:2190). While profit is not necessarily a social good, it's easy to admire a business that can consistently produce it. While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, unless its owners have an endless appetite for subsidizing the customer, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else breathe its last breath.

Saudi Industrial Services's Earnings Per Share Are Growing.
As one of my mentors once told me, share price follows earnings per share (EPS). That means EPS growth is considered a real positive by most successful long-term investors. As a tree reaches steadily for the sky, Saudi Industrial Services's EPS has grown 17% each year, compound, over three years. As a general rule, we'd say that if a company can keep up that sort of growth, shareholders will be smiling.
Careful consideration of revenue growth and earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margins can help inform a view on the sustainability of the recent profit growth. The good news is that Saudi Industrial Services is growing revenues, and EBIT margins improved by 2.1 percentage points to 23%, over the last year. That's great to see, on both counts.

While profitability drives the upside, prudent investors always check the balance sheet, too.
Are Saudi Industrial Services Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
I like company leaders to have some skin in the game, so to speak, because it increases alignment of incentives between the people running the business, and its true owners. As a result, I'm encouraged by the fact that insiders own Saudi Industrial Services shares worth a considerable sum. Indeed, they hold ر.س90m worth of its stock. That's a lot of money, and no small incentive to work hard. Despite being just 3.4% of the company, the value of that investment is enough to show insiders have plenty riding on the venture.
Does Saudi Industrial Services Deserve A Spot On Your Watchlist?
For growth investors like me, Saudi Industrial Services's raw rate of earnings growth is a beacon in the night. I think that EPS growth is something to boast of, and it doesn't surprise me that insiders are holding on to a considerable chunk of shares. Fast growth and confident insiders should be enough to warrant further research. So the answer is that I do think this is a good stock to follow along with. We don't want to rain on the parade too much, but we did also find 2 warning signs for Saudi Industrial Services (1 is a bit concerning!) that you need to be mindful of.
Although Saudi Industrial Services certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
