Aegon N.V. (AMS:AGN) is a company with exceptional fundamental characteristics. Upon building up an investment case for a stock, we should look at various aspects. In the case of AGN, it is a company with an optimistic future outlook, which has not yet been factored into the price. In the following section, I expand a bit more on these key aspects. If you're interested in understanding beyond my broad commentary, read the full report on Aegon here.

Undervalued with reasonable growth potential

AGN is an attractive stock for growth-seeking investors, with an expected earnings growth of 22% in the upcoming year, supported by its outstanding capacity to churn out cash from operating activities, which is predicted to more than double over the next year. This indicates that earnings is driven by top-line activity rather than purely unsustainable cost-reduction initiatives. AGN is currently trading below its true value, which means the market is undervaluing the company's expected cash flow going forward. Investors have the opportunity to buy into the stock to reap capital gains, if AGN's projected earnings trajectory does follow analyst consensus growth, which determines my intrinsic value of the company. Compared to the rest of the market, AGN is also trading below other listed companies on the NL stock exchange, relative to earnings generated. This further reaffirms that AGN is potentially undervalued.
