Insider Buying: Value8 Chairman of the Board & CEO Bought €55k Of Shares
Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Value8 N.V. (AMS:VALUE) Chairman of the Board & CEO, Peter Paul de Vries, recently bought €55k worth of stock, for €6.10 per share. Although the purchase is not a big one, by either a percentage standpoint or absolute value, it can be seen as a good sign.
Value8 Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In fact, the recent purchase by Peter Paul de Vries was the biggest purchase of Value8 shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that even when the share price was higher than €6.10 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when an insider has purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Peter Paul de Vries.
Peter Paul de Vries bought a total of 33.05k shares over the year at an average price of €5.92. Insider Ownership Of Value8
Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Value8 insiders own 74% of the company, currently worth about €43m based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
