Pleasing Signs As A Number Of Insiders Buy Basic-Fit Stock

Generally, when a single insider buys stock, it is usually not a big deal. However, when several insiders are buying, like in the case of Basic-Fit N.V. (AMS:BFIT), it sends a favourable message to the company's shareholders.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Basic-Fit Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The insider Hans van der Aar made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for €211k worth of shares at a price of €21.10 each. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of €24.26. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Basic-Fit insiders may have bought shares in the last year, but they didn't sell any. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

Does Basic-Fit Boast High Insider Ownership?

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It's great to see that Basic-Fit insiders own 12% of the company, worth about €193m. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.

What Might The Insider Transactions At Basic-Fit Tell Us?
