The latest balance sheet data shows that IOI Properties Group Berhad had liabilities of RM2.65b due within a year, and liabilities of RM11.1b falling due after that. On the other hand, it had cash of RM1.47b and RM616.2m worth of receivables due within a year. So its liabilities outweigh the sum of its cash and (near-term) receivables by RM11.6b.

Thus we consider debt relative to earnings both with and without depreciation and amortization expenses.
