Earnings Miss: Fibra UNO Missed EPS And Analysts Are Revising Their Forecasts
The quarterly results for Fibra UNO (BMV:FUNO11) were released last week, making it a good time to revisit its performance. The results don't look great, especially considering that the analysts had been forecasting a profit and Fibra UNO delivered a statutory loss of Mex$0.30 per share. Revenues of Mex$7.2b did beat expectations by 3.5% though. Following the result, the analysts have updated their earnings model, and it would be good to know whether they think there's been a strong change in the company's prospects, or if it's business as usual. We thought readers would find it interesting to see the analysts latest (statutory) post-earnings forecasts for next year.

Following the latest results, Fibra UNO's eight analysts are now forecasting revenues of Mex$28.9b in 2025. This would be an okay 7.8% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are forecast to sink 13% to Mex$2.62 in the same period. Before this earnings report, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of Mex$28.8b and earnings per share (EPS) of Mex$2.91 in 2025. So it looks like there's been a small decline in overall sentiment after the recent results - there's been no major change to revenue estimates, but the analysts did make a small dip in their earnings per share forecasts.
The consensus price target held steady at Mex$32.55, with the analysts seemingly voting that their lower forecast earnings are not expected to lead to a lower stock price in the foreseeable future. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. The most optimistic Fibra UNO analyst has a price target of Mex$38.00 per share, while the most pessimistic values it at Mex$25.80. This shows there is still a bit of diversity in estimates, but analysts don't appear to be totally split on the stock as though it might be a success or failure situation.
Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. The period to the end of 2025 brings more of the same, according to the analysts, with revenue forecast to display 6.2% growth on an annualised basis. That is in line with its 6.2% annual growth over the past five years. Compare this with the broader industry, which analyst estimates (in aggregate) suggest will see revenues grow 1.7% annually. So it's pretty clear that Fibra UNO is forecast to grow substantially faster than its industry.
The Bottom Line
The biggest concern is that the analysts reduced their earnings per share estimates, suggesting business headwinds could lay ahead for Fibra UNO. Happily, there were no major changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow faster than the wider industry. The consensus price target held steady at Mex$32.55, with the latest estimates not enough to have an impact on their price targets.
