GAMEVIL's (KOSDAQ:063080) Shareholders Are Down 60% On Their Shares
GAMEVIL Inc. (KOSDAQ:063080) shareholders should be happy to see the share price up 12% in the last month. But that is small recompense for the exasperating returns over three years. Tragically, the share price declined 60% in that time. So the improvement may be a real relief to some. While many would remain nervous, there could be further gains if the business can put its best foot forward.

To paraphrase Benjamin Graham: Over the short term the market is a voting machine, but over the long term it's a weighing machine. One imperfect but simple way to consider how the market perception of a company has shifted is to compare the change in the earnings per share (EPS) with the share price movement.
During the unfortunate three years of share price decline, GAMEVIL actually saw its earnings per share (EPS) improve by 28% per year. Given the share price reaction, one might suspect that EPS is not a good guide to the business performance during the period (perhaps due to a one-off loss or gain). Alternatively, growth expectations may have been unreasonable in the past.
Since the change in EPS doesn't seem to correlate with the change in share price, it's worth taking a look at other metrics.
We note that, in three years, revenue has actually grown at a 13% annual rate, so that doesn't seem to be a reason to sell shares. This analysis is just perfunctory, but it might be worth researching GAMEVIL more closely, as sometimes stocks fall unfairly. This could present an opportunity.

A Different Perspective
GAMEVIL shareholders gained a total return of 21% during the year. But that was short of the market average. But at least that's still a gain! Over five years the TSR has been a reduction of 9% per year, over five years. So this might be a sign the business has turned its fortunes around. It's always interesting to track share price performance over the longer term. But to understand GAMEVIL better, we need to consider many other factors.
