Capital Investment Trends At CLASSYS (KOSDAQ:214150) Look Strong
Finding a business that has the potential to grow substantially is not easy, but it is possible if we look at a few key financial metrics. Amongst other things, we'll want to see two things; firstly, a growing return on capital employed (ROCE) and secondly, an expansion in the company's amount of capital employed. This shows us that it's a compounding machine, able to continually reinvest its earnings back into the business and generate higher returns. So, when we ran our eye over CLASSYS' (KOSDAQ:214150) trend of ROCE, we really liked what we saw.
What Is Return On Capital Employed (ROCE)?
Just to clarify if you're unsure, ROCE is a metric for evaluating how much pre-tax income (in percentage terms) a company earns on the capital invested in its business. Analysts use this formula to calculate it for CLASSYS:
Return on Capital Employed = Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) ÷ (Total Assets - Current Liabilities)
0.26 = ₩90b ÷ (₩375b - ₩29b) (Based on the trailing twelve months to December 2023).
Thus, CLASSYS has an ROCE of 26%. In absolute terms that's a great return and it's even better than the Medical Equipment industry average of 11%.

How Are Returns Trending?
We'd be pretty happy with returns on capital like CLASSYS. The company has employed 469% more capital in the last five years, and the returns on that capital have remained stable at 26%. Returns like this are the envy of most businesses and given it has repeatedly reinvested at these rates, that's even better. If these trends can continue, it wouldn't surprise us if the company became a multi-bagger.
One more thing to note, even though ROCE has remained relatively flat over the last five years, the reduction in current liabilities to 7.8% of total assets, is good to see from a business owner's perspective. This can eliminate some of the risks inherent in the operations because the business has less outstanding obligations to their suppliers and or short-term creditors than they did previously.
In Conclusion...
CLASSYS has demonstrated its proficiency by generating high returns on increasing amounts of capital employed, which we're thrilled about. And long term investors would be thrilled with the 328% return they've received over the last five years. So while investors seem to be recognizing these promising trends, we still believe the stock deserves further research.
