Persistent Systems (NSEI:PERSISTENT)

Overview: Persistent Systems is an India based IT services company that builds and manages cloud, AI and software engineering solutions for clients in sectors such as banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, life sciences and hi tech. It focuses on generative AI tools, customer experience platforms and multi cloud operations to help enterprises modernize their technology and business processes.

Operations: Persistent Systems generates revenue primarily from Software, Hi Tech and Emerging Industries at ₹62,713 million, followed by Banking, Financial Services and Insurance at ₹54,262 million, and Healthcare & Life Sciences at ₹40,205 million.

Market Cap: ₹826.25 billion

Investors watching the digital transformation theme may find Persistent Systems hard to ignore. The company is tightly linked to cloud, AI and software engineering budgets across BFSI, healthcare and hi tech, and is leaning into proprietary AI platforms and large tech partnerships at a time when clients are prioritizing efficiency, automation and resilient infrastructure. Earnings growth has been strong and return on equity is high, although the stock trades on a rich P/E multiple and carries a higher risk funding profile with liabilities supported by external borrowings. Along with ongoing acquisitions such as the Nagarro bid and fresh collaborations in AI research and skills, this results in a business with identifiable growth levers as well as valuation and concentration risks that may merit closer attention.

Persistent Systems has earnings strength and rich pricing that can both look compelling. To see what the market might be missing around growth, funding and valuation, read the analysis report for Persistent Systems.

Coforge (NSEI:COFORGE)

Overview: Coforge is an India based IT services company that helps banks, insurers, airlines and other large enterprises modernize their operations using cloud, data and AI solutions. It provides services ranging from product engineering and legacy modernization to AI platforms, process automation and business process outsourcing across major global regions.

Operations: Coforge generates ₹182,260 million of revenue from Software Solutions, with key client spending concentrated in the Americas at ₹106,600 million, followed by Europe, Middle East and Africa at ₹51,180 million and the Rest of World at ₹24,480 million.

Market Cap: ₹805.67 billion

Coforge stands out in this screener because it sits at the intersection of rising AI, cloud and automation budgets and the need for measurable business outcomes. Management is focusing on execution rather than experimentation, with products like Coforge Nuuron, Momentuum AI and agentic AI platforms for insurance and airlines that are aimed at contracts tied directly to KPI improvements. Earnings growth has been strong, margins have improved and the order book provides good visibility. At the same time, a high P/E multiple, reliance on external borrowing and a concentrated set of large clients mean expectations for future delivery are elevated. For investors watching how tech spending is tilting toward resilient, outcome linked projects, Coforge is a stock that may warrant closer scrutiny rather than quick conclusions.

Coforge’s push toward outcome linked AI and automation contracts looks powerful; yet the high P/E and reliance on external borrowing leave questions around the trade off investors are really making. The 2 key rewards and 2 important warning signs (1 is major!)

Happiest Minds Technologies (NSEI:HAPPSTMNDS)

Overview: Happiest Minds Technologies is an India based IT services company that helps enterprises worldwide modernize their operations through cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, product and digital engineering, and Generative AI led automation.

Operations: Happiest Minds Technologies generates most of its revenue from Product and Digital Engineering Services at ₹18,975 million, followed by Infrastructure Management & Security Services at ₹3,968 million and Generative AI Business Services at ₹994 million, with the USA as its largest geographic market.

Market Cap: ₹59.26 billion

Happiest Minds Technologies sits at the intersection of AI, automation and digital transformation, with its Generative AI Business Services and the new Rel(AI)Build agentic AI platform aimed at helping clients modernize faster and control costs. Earnings growth has been strong, margins have improved slightly and analysts expect further earnings expansion. At the same time, the stock trades on a richer P/E and above some cash flow based value estimates. That combination of high growth expectations, heavy reliance on a relatively small group of large clients and funding entirely from external borrowings means investors are being asked to pay a premium for quality and future AI potential in a volatile macro backdrop. The key question is whether Happiest Minds’ AI first positioning and earnings profile justify that premium and concentration risk.

Happiest Minds’ AI first strategy and higher P/E ratio indicate a possible gap between market expectations and current fundamentals. Before assuming that this premium is fully justified, review the analyst forecasts for Happiest Minds Technologies

Checked it. The arithmetic is fine; the inputs aren't, and the conclusion doesn't follow even if they were.1. Fare. $7 is a US robotaxi price. Pony's record peak day in Shenzhen (22 March 2026) was RMB394 net revenue per Gen-7 vehicle on 25 orders — about US$2.20 per order. You're roughly 3x high.2. Utilisation. 25 orders/day is Pony's all-time single-day high, not an average, and you then run it 365 days with zero downtime for charging, cleaning, maintenance, weather or geofence interruption.Corrected, the best day Pony has ever recorded yields ~US$55/day. On $43k of hardware that's ~26 months of gross revenue, before any operating cost. The reported actuals agree: FY2025 robotaxi services revenue US$16.6m on a fleet just past 1,000 units; Q1 2026 US$8.6m with the fleet above 1,700 — call it US$20–25k per vehicle per year against your $63,875.3. The caveat is the whole argument. You flag "not including operational costs (people costs)" and then set it aside. Remote safety operators, platform commissions, charging, insurance, cleaning, depot and maintenance are what determine whether a robotaxi contributes anything at all.4. Payback isn't profitability. Q1 2026: 16.2% gross margin on US$34.3m revenue, US$63.9m of opex, US$53.5m net loss. Marginal hardware payback says nothing about R&D, mapping, licensing or overhead.5. Falling BOM cuts both ways. Pony targets sub-RMB230k (~US$34k) total vehicle cost for 2027. Great for new units, bad for the residual value of fleets already deployed on a five-year depreciation schedule. What you get right: the cost trajectory is real, and city-wide UE breakeven in Guangzhou (Nov 2025) and Shenzhen (Feb 2026) is a genuine milestone. But that is contribution-margin breakeven per trip — not "cracked the per-unit cost," and not an 8-month payback. Your post predates all of it; the data has since landed, and it's less favourable on revenue per vehicle than the model assumed.
