Even though Globesecure Technologies Limited (NSE:GSTL) has fallen by 14% over the past week , insiders who sold ₹40m worth of stock over the past year have had less luck. The average selling price of ₹34.25 is still lower than the current share price, or in other words, insiders would have been better off holding on to their shares.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Globesecure Technologies Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent sale by MD & Chairman Ragavan Rajkumar was not the only time they sold Globesecure Technologies shares this year. They previously made an even bigger sale of -₹21m worth of shares at a price of ₹39.39 per share. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of ₹19.50. Insider Ownership

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders.
