Stock Analysis

Should You Be Adding Sanghi Industries (NSE:SANGHIIND) To Your Watchlist Today?

For beginners, it can seem like a good idea (and an exciting prospect) to buy a company that tells a good story to investors, even if it completely lacks a track record of revenue and profit. Unfortunately, high risk investments often have little probability of ever paying off, and many investors pay a price to learn their lesson.

If, on the other hand, you like companies that have revenue, and even earn profits, then you may well be interested in Sanghi Industries (NSE:SANGHIIND). Even if the shares are fully valued today, most capitalists would recognize its profits as the demonstration of steady value generation. Conversely, a loss-making company is yet to prove itself with profit, and eventually the sweet milk of external capital may run sour.

How Fast Is Sanghi Industries Growing?

If you believe that markets are even vaguely efficient, then over the long term you'd expect a company's share price to follow its earnings per share (EPS). It's no surprise, then, that I like to invest in companies with EPS growth. We can see that in the last three years Sanghi Industries grew its EPS by 8.0% per year. That might not be particularly high growth, but it does show that per-share earnings are moving steadily in the right direction.

Careful consideration of revenue growth and earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margins can help inform a view on the sustainability of the recent profit growth. The good news is that Sanghi Industries is growing revenues, and EBIT margins improved by 4.7 percentage points to 19%, over the last year. That's great to see, on both counts.

Sanghi Industries isn't a huge company, given its market capitalization of ₹14b. That makes it extra important to check on its balance sheet strength.

Are Sanghi Industries Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?

Many consider high insider ownership to be a strong sign of alignment between the leaders of a company and the ordinary shareholders. So we're pleased to report that Sanghi Industries insiders own a meaningful share of the business. Actually, with 40% of the company to their names, insiders are profoundly invested in the business. I'm reassured by this kind of alignment, as it suggests the business will be run for the benefit of shareholders. With that sort of holding, insiders have about ₹5.6b riding on the stock, at current prices. That's nothing to sneeze at!

Does Sanghi Industries Deserve A Spot On Your Watchlist?

One important encouraging feature of Sanghi Industries is that it is growing profits. If that's not enough on its own, there is also the rather notable levels of insider ownership. The combination sparks joy for me, so I'd consider keeping the company on a watchlist. We don't want to rain on the parade too much, but we did also find 3 warning signs for Sanghi Industries (2 are significant!) that you need to be mindful of.
