We Think National Aluminium (NSE:NATIONALUM) Might Have The DNA Of A Multi-Bagger
If we want to find a potential multi-bagger, often there are underlying trends that can provide clues. One common approach is to try and find a company with returns on capital employed (ROCE) that are increasing, in conjunction with a growing amount of capital employed. Ultimately, this demonstrates that it's a business that is reinvesting profits at increasing rates of return. And in light of that, the trends we're seeing at National Aluminium's (NSE:NATIONALUM) look very promising so lets take a look.
Return On Capital Employed (ROCE): What Is It?
For those that aren't sure what ROCE is, it measures the amount of pre-tax profits a company can generate from the capital employed in its business. Analysts use this formula to calculate it for National Aluminium:
Return on Capital Employed = Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) ÷ (Total Assets - Current Liabilities)
0.24 = ₹34b ÷ (₹176b - ₹31b) (Based on the trailing twelve months to September 2022).
Thus, National Aluminium has an ROCE of 24%. In absolute terms that's a great return and it's even better than the Metals and Mining industry average of 15%.
