Read This Before Selling JiaXing Gas Group Co., Ltd. (HKG:9908) Shares
We've lost count of how many times insiders have accumulated shares in a company that goes on to improve markedly. The flip side of that is that there are more than a few examples of insiders dumping stock prior to a period of weak performance. So shareholders might well want to know whether insiders have been buying or selling shares in JiaXing Gas Group Co., Ltd. (HKG:9908).
Do Insider Transactions Matter?
Most investors know that it is quite permissible for company leaders, such as directors of the board, to buy and sell stock in the company. However, rules govern insider transactions, and certain disclosures are required.
Insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing. But equally, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether. As Peter Lynch said, 'insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise'.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At JiaXing Gas Group
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by insider Tin Ching Shum for HK$53m worth of shares, at about HK$10.00 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, at around the current price, which is HK$10.16. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider bought shares at close to current prices. Tin Ching Shum was the only individual insider to buy during the last year.
