29% Of This Ocumension Therapeutics Insider's Holdings Were Sold
Insiders were net sellers of Ocumension Therapeutics' (HKG:1477 ) stock during the past year. That is, insiders sold more stock than they bought.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.
Ocumension Therapeutics Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board, Lian Yong Chen, sold HK$354m worth of shares at a price of HK$9.58 per share. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is HK$8.31. So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price. Lian Yong Chen was the only individual insider to sell over the last year.

Insider Ownership
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It's great to see that Ocumension Therapeutics insiders own 16% of the company, worth about HK$1.1b. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.

It's heartening that insiders own plenty of stock, but we'd like to see more insider buying, since the last year of Ocumension Therapeutics insider transactions don't fill us with confidence.
