N. Varveris-Moda Bagno (ATH:MODA) Is Increasing Its Dividend To €0.0591
The board of N. Varveris-Moda Bagno S.A. (ATH:MODA) has announced that it will be paying its dividend of €0.0591 on the 24th of October, an increased payment from last year's comparable dividend. Even though the dividend went up, the yield is still quite low at only 1.1%.
N. Varveris-Moda Bagno's Payment Could Potentially Have Solid Earnings Coverage
The dividend yield is a little bit low, but sustainability of the payments is also an important part of evaluating an income stock. However, prior to this announcement, N. Varveris-Moda Bagno's dividend was comfortably covered by both cash flow and earnings. As a result, a large proportion of what it earned was being reinvested back into the business.
Looking forward, earnings per share could rise by 39.9% over the next year if the trend from the last few years continues. If the dividend continues along recent trends, we estimate the payout ratio will be 23%, which is in the range that makes us comfortable with the sustainability of the dividend.

N. Varveris-Moda Bagno Is Still Building Its Track Record
The company hasn't been paying a dividend for very long at all, so we can't really make a judgement on how stable the dividend has been. This doesn't mean that the company can't pay a good dividend, but just that we want to wait until it can prove itself.
The Dividend Looks Likely To Grow
Investors could be attracted to the stock based on the quality of its payment history. N. Varveris-Moda Bagno has seen EPS rising for the last five years, at 40% per annum. Earnings have been growing rapidly, and with a low payout ratio we think that the company could turn out to be a great dividend stock.
N. Varveris-Moda Bagno Looks Like A Great Dividend Stock
In summary, it is always positive to see the dividend being increased, and we are particularly pleased with its overall sustainability. The company is easily earning enough to cover its dividend payments and it is great to see that these earnings are being translated into cash flow. Taking this all into consideration, this looks like it could be a good dividend opportunity.
