Potential Mpac Group plc (LON:MPAC) shareholders may wish to note that insider Clive Whiley recently bought UK£80k worth of stock, paying UK£3.20 for each share. Although the purchase is not a big one, by either a percentage standpoint or absolute value, it can be seen as a good sign.

Mpac Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The CFO & Director, William Wilkins, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for UK£167k worth of shares at a price of UK£3.72 each. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is UK£2.95. So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it. The only individual insider seller over the last year was William Wilkins.

Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 28.81k shares worth UK£90k. On the other hand they divested 45.00k shares, for UK£167k. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

Insider Ownership

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Insiders own 7.2% of Mpac Group shares, worth about UK£6.4m, according to our data. However, it's possible that insiders might have an indirect interest through a more complex structure. Overall, this level of ownership isn't that impressive, but it's certainly better than nothing!

So What Does This Data Suggest About Mpac Group Insiders?

The recent insider purchase is heartening. But we can't say the same for the transactions over the last 12 months. We're not thrilled with the relatively low insider ownership and the longer term transaction history. But we like the recent purchasing. In addition to knowing about insider transactions going on, it's beneficial to identify the risks facing Mpac Group.
