The company operates in two segments, Semiconductor and Micromechanics. Its products include optical IR and passive infrared sensors, sensor signal processors, smoke detector controllers, and ultrasonic sensors; motor control products, such as stepper, DC, and brushless DC motors; transceivers and system basis chips; power management products comprising DC/DC Converters, low dropout regulator, and LED drivers; and application specific integrated circuit chips, engine management products, relay drivers, and automotive safety products. The company products applications in household appliances, installation and building technology, and machine control systems, as well as micro-electro-mechanical systems. Elmos Semiconductor AG was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Dortmund, Germany.
