Favourable Signals For Lode Gold Resources: Numerous Insiders Acquired Stock
Generally, when a single insider buys stock, it is usually not a big deal. However, when several insiders are buying, like in the case of Lode Gold Resources Inc. (CVE:LOD), it sends a favourable message to the company's shareholders.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
Lode Gold Resources Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by CEO & Director Wendy Chan for CA$75k worth of shares, at about CA$0.18 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of CA$0.20. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. The good news for Lode Gold Resources share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

From looking at our data, insiders own CA$334k worth of Lode Gold Resources stock, about 4.0% of the company. But they may have an indirect interest through a corporate structure that we haven't picked up on. We consider this fairly low insider ownership.
What Might The Insider Transactions At Lode Gold Resources Tell Us?
It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchases. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses. On this analysis the only slight negative we see is the fairly low (overall) insider ownership; their transactions suggest that they are quite positive on Lode Gold Resources stock.
