Insider Buyers Lose Additional CA$113k As EnGold Mines Dips To CA$1.7m
The recent price decline of 13% in EnGold Mines Ltd.'s (CVE:EGM) stock may have disappointed insiders who bought CA$200.0k worth of shares at an average price of CA$0.08 in the past 12 months. Insiders purchase with the hope of seeing their investments increase in value over time. However, due to recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth CA$87.5k, which is not great.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Independent Director Anton Novak bought CA$200k worth of shares at a price of CA$0.08 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of CA$0.035. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is encouraging to see an insider paid above the current price for shares, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels. Anton Novak was the only individual insider to buy during the last year.
