Don't Ignore The Insider Selling In Dropsuite

Published
ASX:DSE

We wouldn't blame Dropsuite Limited (ASX:DSE) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Charif El-Ansari, the CEO, MD & Director recently netted about AU$1.0m selling shares at an average price of AU$3.40. However, that sale only accounted for 8.7% of their holding, so arguably it doesn't say much about their conviction.

Dropsuite Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by Charif El-Ansari was the biggest sale of Dropsuite shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of AU$3.40. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. We note that this sale took place at around the current price, so it isn't a major concern, though it's hardly a good sign.

Does Dropsuite Boast High Insider Ownership?

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Dropsuite insiders own about AU$44m worth of shares. That equates to 19% of the company. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.
