Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Wagners Holding Company Limited (ASX:WGN) Independent Non-Executive Director, Allan Brackin, recently bought AU$153k worth of stock, for AU$1.53 per share. Nevertheless, it only increased their shareholding by a minuscule percentage, and it wasn't a massive purchase by absolute value, either.

Wagners Holding Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Notably, that recent purchase by Allan Brackin is the biggest insider purchase of Wagners Holding shares that we've seen in the last year. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being AU$1.46). Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when an insider has purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price. Allan Brackin was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.

Does Wagners Holding Boast High Insider Ownership?
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Wagners Holding insiders own 50% of the company, currently worth about AU$135m based on the recent share price. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
