An Insider At Orora Lowered Their Holding Recently

Simply Wall St

Viewing insider transactions for Orora Limited's (ASX:ORA ) over the last year, we see that insiders were net sellers. This means that a larger number of shares were sold by insiders in relation to shares purchased.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Orora Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the CEO, MD & Director, Brian Lowe, sold AU$393k worth of shares at a price of AU$2.62 per share. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (AU$1.86). So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it. Brian Lowe was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.

Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 173.43k shares worth AU$359k. But they sold 150.00k shares for AU$393k. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

What Might The Insider Transactions At Orora Tell Us?

It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchases. But we can't say the same for the transactions over the last 12 months. Neither the level of insider ownership, nor the transactions over the last twelve months inspire us, but we think the recent buying is positive. While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
